Maternal and child health cannot be considered separately. For a child to develop healthily within a family, the mother must be healthy. When the mother’s health deteriorates, the child is the most affected, especially if the mother cannot meet her child’s needs. Throughout their lives, the biological, cognitive, emotional, and social health care needs of mothers and children should be addressed holistically to support family cohesion. Along with current socio-demographic-economic changes, trends in health services are changing. For economic and social development, maternal and child health should improve. Policies on education, nutrition, presentation of health services, etc. should be developed. In this article, the advances in mother-child health and some health problems and their solutions have been reviewed.
