Determining the Level of Tendency in Malpractice of Nurses: A Hospital Sample

Objective: This study aims to determine the level of proneness to medical error among nurses. Method: The descriptive study was performed with the voluntary participation of 185 nurses working a hospital in Erzurum in November-December 2014. The data were collected by using “Medical Error Trend Scale in Nursing” developed by Özata and Altunkan (2010). Results: As a result, nurses The of Medical error Trend Scale subscales, the highest score came from (4.69±0.321) “Medicine and Transfusion Practice" was found. The lowest score (4,47±0.566) "Fall" has been determined. Conclusion: İt were determined that low tend medical errors of nurses. But, making training patients to increase awareness of the importance of medical errors can contribute to the creation of awareness for patient safety.
