In today’s medical and nursing science, many various methods have been applied during the healing process, thanks to advancements in technology and biomedical fields. Although these developments changed the way of nursing care and its philosophy throughout the history, the healing philosophy behind nursing has always been always stayed the same and continued for centuries. In other words, the essence of caring in the nursing profession has been constituted by improvements in the healing process. Most of the recent methodological models used for treatment and caring are based on technological improvements. However, to maintain healing process (therapeutic approach), a fair approach and the professionalism built on trust, hope, faith and respect for human dignity are required. Likewise, in this approach, knowing the person, being together with her/him and taking actions to facilitate his/her are equally important. A curative healing process depends on continuous communication between a patient and nurse. In addition, nurses are able to accelerate the healing process by assisting patients during the course. In summary, a curative care performed to reduce the severity of disease consists of all of the nurses’ effort, in addition to the ensured active participation of the patients’ family.
