The Importance of Corporate Social Responsibility in Hospitals

Social responsibility is a concept in which corporations can meet its main goals of accomplishing a particular public effort or of increasing shareholders’ profits, but at the same time fulfilling other important objectives namely with public benefits. Corporate social responsibility (CSR), has become an important subject which should be taken into consideration with the based on voluntariness in the whole production processes of all enterprises producing commodities and service. Like other organizations in the society, health sector and its corporations, with the mission of providing healthcare services, should engage in the social activities and take its social responsibility. In this context, activities carried out on CSR by hospitals show an increasing trend in the health sector as well. The fulfillment of hospitals' social responsibilities requires not only compliance with general ethical principles or legislation, but also voluntary activities of collecting usefulness.
