Abstract

Purpose: The aim of this study is to search professional awareness of the students of Istanbul University Faculty of Health Science Division of Physiotherapy Rehabilitation. Methods: We recruited 201 students they were 49 in first class, 59 in class 2, 51 in class 3, 42 in class 4.Questionnaire which had 15 questions was prepared by the researchers for analysing of awareness in physical therapy issue. Questionnaire were implemented to all students concurrently. Results: Two questions about the professional law and within the scape of this law which physician they have ability to work with were answered correctly by 70% (n=34) of class 1.,79 % (n=46) of class 2,78% (n=40) of class 3 and 67% (n=28) of class 4. Eight questions about our division’s history,vision,mission and condition of graduation were replied correctly by 55.5%(n=27) of class 1, 52%(n=30) of class 2. 56%(n=28) of class 3 and 71%(n=30) of class 4.85%(n=42) of class1, 68%(n=40) of class 2.92%(n=47) of class 3.85%(n= 36) of class 4 answered correctly the question that was about provision of graduate study in our department.When all classes answered like “a bit pleased” three questions that was about pleasure of division,competence of clinical and basic medicine subjects,they indicated‘very positive’to questions which evaluate perspective of family and their nearby. Conclusion: The students of in this study ratio of correct answer to questions which were about professional awareness were high. When increasing of awareness in progressive classes was supposed to, correlation wasn’t observed. These results were thought this awareness might be relevant for individual concern.
